Biography

Active as a soloist, chamber musician, educator, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, Rok Palčič combines wide-ranging experience with a deep commitment to musical excellence and cultural leadership. He serves as President of the Art Music Society, CEO of Music School 21 and Chevy Chase Music, and Artistic Director of the Cultural Arts Society Ars Haliaeti.

Born in Slovenia, Palčič began his studies with pianist Sijavush Gadjiev and continued at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne with Pavel Gililov, later earning a master’s degree in chamber music under Chia Chou at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. He went on to complete an additional master’s degree and a doctorate at the University of Maryland. He has appeared at festivals and concert venues across Europe and the United States, performing with renowned artists across a wide range of styles and disciplines.

His recordings include the premiere of Mélanie Bonis’s complete piano works and Brahms’s Sonatas for Piano and Violin for the Slovenian ZKP label, as well as a selection of contemporary pieces, many of which were premiered through the Art Music Society’s Chamber Music Series. Through his educational and nonprofit initiatives, Palčič actively supports emerging artists and works to make art music accessible to broader and more diverse audiences.
